So today I’m treating myself to a lovely new drink. A sparkling, fruity and alcoholic water from Sol Duc. A new concept for me, certainly, it’s what they call a Hard Seltzer in the US. And this one comes from what is apparently the home of Hard Seltzers in Seattle.
Sol Duc is a beautiful waterfall in Olympic National Park to the west of Seattle. It was named by the Quileutae, a Native American people and roughly translates as sparkling or magic waters. Which is just what this new beverage is.
Sol Duc is a mix of pure vodka, sparkling water and natural flavours. There are three types: Strawberry & Lime (my favourite), Raspberry & Rose and Rhubarb & Ginger. They are also all vegan friendly, gluten free and there are only 95 calories per can.
A tasty and refreshing new addition to my beverage collection. Always a welcome event. Here they are lounging on the beach (well a tea towel depicting the beach) – which, come to think of it, would be quite simply a perfect place to drink them.
