It’s that time of year and London is buzzing as only it does at Christmas. The streets are sparkling with the twinkle of decorations and filled with excited chattering shoppers and diners ready to celebrate the season. And today we’re starting off our festive celebrations with a bottomless brunch at Ping Pong. Gotta love a bottomless brunch.
There are six branches of Ping Pong across London serving up delectable dim sum from bao buns to gyoza with a variety of dipping sauces. The menu also includes noodles, curries and rice pots. Today we’re tucking into the Bottomless Brunch set menu which is available every Saturday from noon. The menu costs £35 per person and includes a dim sum set menu each and free-flowing drinks. There’s an original, vegetarian, vegan or gluten free offering.
What’s on the menu
For the free-flowing drinks there’s a selection of three cocktail carafes as well as bottomless wine, bubbly and beer. As a lover of both lychees and aperol, I couldn’t resist the lychee spritz. Made from malfy arancia, aperol, lychee juice and topped up with Prosecco this is the cocktail of dreams. I’m totally going to try making it at home. And doesn’t it look so pretty, too. The perfect match for the nibbles – crunchy, tasty prawn crackers served with dipping sauces.
The crispy portion of our brunch is made up of two crispy duck spring rolls, two vegetable spring rolls and two potato and edamame cakes. That’s each. Hot, crunchy and delicious – and who knew edamame would go so well in a potato cake.
How about these golden potato cakes that melt in the mouth with a sweet and savoury dipping sauce.
Three different dumplings (two of each. per person) are served steaming in a basket as well as a portion of vegetable sticky rice. Har gau (shrimp), chicken and cashew nut and spicy vegetable. Delicious.
There are six branches of Ping Pong around London. We had our Bottomless Brunch in one of my favourite areas of London at 29a James Street, St Christopher’s Place W1.
